This jazz-heavy soundtrack for the 1992 film version of David Mamet’s play features original music by James Newton Howard performed by an all-star jazz combo led by saxophonist Wayne Shorter.

There are also several jazz and pop standards performed by various artists including Shirley Horn, Take 6, David Sanborn, Al Jarreau, and Dr. John.

This moody and dark jazz CD captures the desperate atmosphere of this gritty cult-classic film. It's a superb jazz soundtrack and an example of urban jazz ensemble playing at its finest.

Note: Not all the songs here were used on the film's soundtrack, but all of them capture that cold, dark, rainy night that features so prominently in the movie.
