This is the first film score ever composed and conducted by John Williams. Previous to this outing, he’d only been a Hollywood composer and arranger for others. Distinct in that it’s got an early Americana feel, which is unusual to hear coming from Williams, there are signature sweeping orchestra underscores that remind you that you’re listening the film soundtrack master. This score was nominated for an Oscar in the year it came out. Rare entry in the Williams canon. It’s our only copy, so pick it up today.
